If you are looking for a reliable, well-equipped small sedan, the 2018 Honda Civic should be at the top of your list. It goes big on technology and safety, while still being fun to drive.
The Honda Civic Sedan is available in six trim levels: LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L, Touring, and Si.
Powertrains and Performance
The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with either a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The EX-T trim comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with 174 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque and the CVT. If you opt for the performance-oriented Si, it comes with a more powerful version of the 1.5-liter engine and has an output of 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. It only comes with a six-speed manual transmission.
Despite being a small sedan, the Civic has a spacious cabin with plenty of room for up to five passengers. There are plenty of small storage pockets and cubbies to keep small items stowed away. The technology features are placed within easy reach of the driver and the controls are easy to use.
Both the front and rear seats have wide opening doors that make getting in and out easy. You will find the front seat simple to adjust to find your ideal driving position.
Every Civic comes well-equipped with standard features including Bluetooth® connectivity, automatic climate control, a USB port, and a 5-inch central display screen.
The base Civic comes standard with a rearview camera, antilock brakes, an advanced airbag system, and traction and stability control. The Honda Sensing® package is available as an add-on and includes lane departure warning and intervention, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Honda’s LaneWatch® blind-spot camera system comes standard on the EX model and above.
